The 9 ABA Principles

A sequence for moving from state to framework to action.

The principles are not nine disconnected ideas. They are taught in a deliberate order that builds a shared language for control, interpretation, behaviour, investment, decision and strength.

PRINCIPLE 01

The Five Emotional States

A shared colour language for recognising degree of control and choosing a response that fits the state.

PRINCIPLE 02

Core Beliefs

A practical framework that connects a perceived threat with a workable solution, creating a clearer map for what comes next.

PRINCIPLE 03

Behaviour is King

Insight becomes change when it appears in controllable, observable behaviour in daily life.

PRINCIPLE 04

Coin Theory

A way to examine value, investment, expectations and boundaries using present-day evidence rather than title or history alone.

PRINCIPLE 05

The Escher Principle

A way to interrupt an unproductive loop and redirect attention into a useful behaviour when the situation cannot be solved in that moment.

PRINCIPLE 06

Never Sit on the Fence

A principle for moving indecision into a chosen-for-now position, a defined research step or a clear next action.

PRINCIPLE 07

What Are Emotions?

A practical view of emotions as meaningful signals and outcomes—not commands or the only evidence for what to do next.

PRINCIPLE 08

Changing Physiology

When activation makes thinking less reliable, work with physiology enough to return to accurate, framework-aligned behaviour.

PRINCIPLE 09

Unconditional Attitude of Strength

A non-conditional commitment to how the story ends, expressed through behaviour and evidence rather than circumstance alone.

An integrated framework

Each principle strengthens the way the others are understood and applied.

Together, the principles help people recognise their current state, examine the beliefs shaping interpretation, make deliberate choices, translate intention into behaviour and sustain a purposeful direction through changing circumstances.
